Three Idiots Has 17.50 Crore Nett Fourth Week

Three Idiots has grossed 17.50 crore nett in its fourth week as per early estimates. This is easily a new record smashing the previous record of Lage Raho Munnabhai of 7.75 crore nett.
The four week business of Three Idiots is now nearly 183 crore nett and the distributor share is 94-95 crore.
Three Idiots should also set a new record for the fifth week which at the moment is 6 crore nett set by Gadar in 2001. This week will see the release of Veer but still Three Idiots has plenty of screen time at multiplexes. Single screens could show larger falls as Veer will take up most of the good single screens that were screening Three Idiots.

Idiots´ Is An Unprecedented Blockbuster!

Rarely has a film in the last decade behaved at the box-office as '3Idiots' is behaving. All calculations of the trade people are going wrong as the entertainer from Rajkumar Hirani continues its victory march even in its third week. If the first week’s collections were earth-shattering, the second week’s were mind-boggling. There was just a 30 percent drop in collections, an enviable feat, considering that the first week’s grosses themselves were historic. To amass a distributor’s share of approximately Rs. 75 crore in just two weeks from India is no mean achievement. For Aamir Khan, this is an unparalleled victory because the audience in the Overseas circuit is as crazy about the film as the public in India. If 'Ghajini' was the biggest Overseas hit for Aamir Khan so far, '3 Idiots' has overtaken that film by a big margin.

Aamir Khan Interview

As 3 Idiots strikes box office gold across the globe, Indian megastar Aamir Khan talks Time Out through Bollywood. It's a peculiarity of this job that I'll occasionally interview someone who means zip to me, yet everything to a crowd of other people. In Aamir Khan's case, we're talking several hundred million people. He's the star of Bollywood's latest blockbuster – heck, he's the star of the two top-grossing Bollywood films of all time – but the truth is he only popped up on my personal radar a month ago, around the time I dropped into an Indian cinema, handed over my Dhs25, and sat down to watch 3 Idiots.

Aamir's Peepli Live gets an 'A' certificate

Aamir Khan's new production 'Peepli Live' has been handed an 'adult' rating by the Censor Board of India for its 'colourful and rustic language'. Reportedly Aamir was given a chance to turn it into a 'U' rating, but to do so he had to trim the film a bit. Goes without saying, the perfectionist did not resort to chopping away the film and is quite happy with the 'A' rating.
